We’re getting ready for the most exciting PTA event of the year! Here’s everything to know about Dueling Pianos!

Dueling Pianos Fundraiser
Dueling Pianos (formerly Trivia Night) is an adult-only fundraiser event that is lively and interactive combining entertainment with charitable giving.

Two highly skilled pianists engage in friendly musical competition often, competing, or ‘dueling’, against each other with music selections based on guests dropping donations into each piano’s donation jar.  Think ‘Howl At the Moon’ where the ‘tips’ are donations. For example, guests can put donations in the jar for one piano to interrupt the current song and request another.

While the entertainment portion of the night has changed, the wild, themed, fun-filled night has not!  It is an event that guests look forward to each year!

What are the funds raised going toward?
Funds raised go to the Forest Glen PTA which provides amazing events for our children at school such as Hobby Night, Author Visits, Science Fair, Chess Club, Field Day, Running Club, and more!

What is the cost of a ticket?
Tickets are $100 for a single ticket or $1,000 for a table of 10.

Buy your ticket/table quickly as prior years have sold out within minutes! As a bonus, consider donating a little extra for Giving Tuesday!!

What do I need for ticket registration?

1. Know if you are buying a single ticket or a table of 10.  Discuss with friends, old and new, ahead of time.  (Note: The event is more entertaining when with others as well as makes table decorating more fun!)
2. Decide on a Table Lead and have that person’s Name and email address ready.  The Table Lead will serve as the primary point person for Dueling Piano updates and things to know leading up to and for the day of the Dueling Pianos night.
3. Consider donating a monetary amount directly to the PTA Fundraiser.
4. Have your credit card ready for checkout.
5. Checkout!
6. Double your impact by saving your purchase confirmation and submitting it to your company to match your donation via their Employee Matching Program. Is there a theme?
Yes! Billboard’s Top 100! Given the musical focus of the night with Dueling Pianos….dress as your favorite musical inspiration!

Is it still a costume party?
Yes! Go all-out, be creative and bring your A-game with costumes and props! Suggest coordinating with your tablemates for a common table theme! One-thing we’ve learned…parties are better with a wig.

Do we still decorate the tables?
Yes! Same as years past, coordinate with your tablemates to create one-of-a kind table decorations (even more reason to purchase tickets as a table of 10)!  Some prior year inspo…

Silent Auction
Folks are encouraged to donate items and/or services to help raise additional funds.  These items/services will be auctioned via an online bidding process where the winner is the highest bid on the item/service.  The auction will be held via the Auctria app.  A link to the silent auction will be circulated prior to the event to browse the auction items with the ability to bid beginning at 7pm on Dueling Piano night (January 25, 2025).  You do NOT need to be present at Dueling Pianos to win! It is highly encouraged to register on the app with your credit card prior bidding opening to make for a more seamless process.

Bring CASH and your phone with Venmo!
If you have these at the ready, the night will flow more smoothly.  Cash will help with back up at the bar (and nobody wants that 😊).  Cash and/or Venmo is needed to purchase Donation Tickets used to encourage the pianos to duel with each other.  For example, guests can support their child’s grade by adding Donation Tickets/Cash in their grade’s jar during a rivals challenge.  When the pianos duel, don’t be left without the ability to support your grade!  If needed, there is an ATM at the hotel.

Pre-Order Wine or Buckets of Beer
There will be an option to pre-order wine or buckets of beer for your table. More information on this to follow.

Silent Auction Donations
We are currently working to gather items for the silent auction. If you have items/experiences to donate, or know someone who might, please reach out to the Dueling Piano Co-Chairs. Some examples of items we are looking for include travel (homes, hotels packages, etc.), sports (memorabilia, tickets, activities), music (autographs, lessons, events) and experiences (e.g., private cooking class, etc.).

We are thrilled to introduce Sponsored Events this year! Forest Glen families have the opportunity to organize and fund events that other FG parents can purchase tickets to attend. 100% of ticket sales will go directly to the fundraiser and can be purchased via the Auctria app, providing an exciting way to raise funds while building our school community!

We need help! We would love your help to make the Dueling Piano fundraiser event a success! Volunteering is a great way to meet other parents and contribute to our school community.
